Today, we celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His contributions to this country, and the world, are unparalleled throughout human history. As a young man, Dr. King uttered the words, “I have an inner urge to serve humanity.” An ordained minister at the age of 19, Dr. King dreamed that all men would live according to the Golden Rule – Do unto others as you have them do unto you. This was a huge dream in the midst of the tumultuous times of the 1950s and 1960s, but I believe that tremendous strides were made, and are still being realized. Dr. King was a visionary, leader, dreameOptimized-DREAMr, advocate, mediator, minister of the gospel, achiever, and accomplished orator.

Together, let’s celebrate the life’s accomplishment of this great man. He was a champion among us!

Likewise, today we celebrate the 57th Inauguration of the President of the United States – Barack Obama. A true leader that is eloquent in his delivery on mulitple topics of concern to the people of this great nation – and the world. A beloved giant among us who is deserving of his second term as President (he won both the popular vote and the electoral college in the face of the millions of dollars spent by the Republican party). President Obama promotes the value of family, is an excellent leader, respects women, a visionary, even tempered, debonair, polished, fears the Lord, and exceptionally gifted with great communications skills. On this day, let’s celebrate the privilege to be under the leadership of this awesome man.

As my family and i celebrated last night, and again today, in Washington, DC amongst all of the events, let’s remain prayerful that this day will be memorable and honorable. As Americans, we should be proud!!

Dr. King and President Obama – 2 Nobel Peace Prize winners – thank you for your sacrifice, dedication, warm hearts, and love of family. Two men with two dreams, you make us proud!

Optimized-GraceGod’s unmerited favor constantly and consistently flows through our lives. It is called GRACE!

As it relates to the believer, and as Christians, we:

-Are under GRACE – Romans 6:14
-Receive GRACE – Jon 1:16
-Stand in GRACE – Romans 5:2
-Abound in GRACE – 2 Corinthians 9:8
-Grow in GRACE – 2 Peter 3:18
-Inherit GRACE – 1 Peter 3:7

As we go through our daily affairs, always remember that God’s GRACE is sufficient for you, regardless of the situation or circumstances (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Did you know that it takes FAITH to please God? Yes, without it, it is impossible to please Him. Faith is that essential quality in the life of the Christian and it requires us to completely trust God in the midst of all circumstances. As defined, faith is…”the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen” (Heb 11:1). For example, I truly believe that my three sons will live a productive life and transition from high school, to college, to good employment, to become husbands and fathers, and contribute positively to society. By faith, that is my daily prayer for them. I cannot actually “see” the manifestation today, but believe, by FAITH, that God will protect them along the way.

So, if you truly believe that God will respond, on your behalf, to your prayers and desiresOptimized-Faith, then “Walk by FAITH, not by sight” (2 Cor 5:7)!
