Our First 30 days – My Journey

I am close to completing my first 30 days of my international outreach leading up to the publication of our first Study Guide in the Give God the Glory! book series.  While completing the updates to our two websites – Writingforthelord.com and .org – we have also updated our Amazon.com page, listed the Study Guide at Bowker.com, and are about to embark upon the Google Book Search Program for our entire series. These activities aid our ability to reach a global market as intended.

To piggyback on our current efforts, the manuscript goes off to our editor on next week and in July, we embark upon a four-city tour (see our July itinerary): Seattle, Charlotte, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, and The Bahamas Islands (Nassau).  We have scheduled excellent events for each city that will prove to be quite enjoyable and profitable for our ministry and book series.  Expanded our network is key!

Along My Journey

Today, I am well into our 90-day campaign leading up to the September 2nd release of our first Study Guide in the Give God the Glory! series.  So far, our collective efforts have included a post on Amazon.com, Google Book Search, Baker and Taylor, revision and rewrite (for the Study Guide format) of our first book – Know God and Do the Will of God Concerning Your Life, notification (via email and direct mail with postcards) to multiple churches, bookstores, publishing industry insiders, book clubs, and libraries in the United States and nine countries around the world.  Boy, I’m excited!!

Next week, our rewrite goes to the editor for a complete proof and editing, then on to be typeset and formatted for printing.  Then, my family and I embark upon a four city book tour to continue to promote the series plus the new Study Guide: Seattle for the Links, Inc. National Assembly plus one local church, Charlotte for the National Christian Writer’s Conference plus one local church, Miami for several venues including Borders Books, Afro-In Books and Cafe and one local church, then on to the Bahamas with The Christian Book Shop.  We continue to pray that we receive 5,000 pre-publication orders.  Spread the word for us!!

Happy Father’s Day

A Family Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus
What a joy I have today
To pray unto you
As I do each and every day.

As I wake each day at dawn
To a sun that you caused to rise,
I am again thankful for the opportunity
To have been welcomed into the body of Christ.

I pray for my family, Lord
Whom you created just for me
Your Word says to serve and provide for them
And to encourage them to be what your Word calls them to be.

I pray Father that my family will
Prosper, and be in good health, even as our souls prosper
And that we continually acknowledge You in all of our ways,
Knowing that You shall direct our paths that no one can conquer.

I pray for salvation and academic excellence
For each and every child today
And for my spouse, I pray for peace
That will never fade or away.

I pray Father that our beautiful family
Be a visible example in the earth
Of what Your Word teaches us
That is, to be a blessing and not a curse.

In exchange for Your love toward us
We promise this to you
That this family will remain intact
No matter what the world may say or do.
This family will boldly reflect
What your Word intends for the family to be,
A strong and loving father, a tender and caring mother,
And children who honor their parents as their authority.

Thank you, Father for the stewardship
That comes with parental accountability,
What a privilege to be trusted
With such responsibility!

Father, use our family
To make a change in society
To demonstrate Your awesome love
For all humanity.

Your Word says,
“Train up a child in the way that he should go,
So that when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
We pledge to do this so our children won’t be tossed to and fro.

Your Word teaches the man
To love his wife as Christ also loved the church
For she is his glory, as is to be regarded
As precious as Your only Sons’ birth.

So Father, we touch and agree
Right now as we prepare for Your work today,
That Jesus is the solid rock upon which we stand
Even as You care for us every step along the way.

We pray for all families throughout our land
That they will come to know Your unconditional love,
And that Your original plan for the family
Will transcend all that is wrong with this world.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

My Next Journey

Today, I am so excited to embark upon the adventure of publishing book #6 in the best-selling Give God the Glory! series.  I am elated at the awesome opportunity to share God’s Word internationally with 10 countries in several languages.

It began in 2001 and my ministry has mushroomed into more than writing.  I speak, teach, inspire, motivate and challenge thousands of people annually about the Give God the Glory! message.  That is, put God first and foremost in our lives in everything that we do.

This next book is actually a STUDY GUIDE – a deeper and more meaningful adventure through the first book in the series: Know God the Do the Will of God Concerning Your Life.  Together, let’s journey through the STUDY GUIDE as we anticipate the actual release on September 2, 2008.

Join me weekly as we undercover various portions of the STUDY GUIDE.  Together, let’s Give God the Glory!
