This past Sunday’s message was a celebration of our local government and civic leaders that promote growth, development and programs for the betterment of our local community. This is done through service.

In our study and teaching from the Books of Philippians 2:1-11 and Galatians 5:13-18, we learned that to take focus OFF of self and serving others is key to our fulfillment AND is a mandate from God. Service to others is a demonstration of love – The ‘God-Kind’ of Love. It is motivated by our desire to seek the highest good in others.

Find someone to serve today and experience the fulfillment that only God can provide. See and experience the difference that you will make!

What are you thoughts on this?

In our current teaching series, we learned that the “God-Kind” of Love is an expression of God’s unconditional love. It is the kind of love that comes without reasons, without strings and without us having to earn it. God’s awesome love for all that He created is mind-blowing indeed!! His love compelled Him to give His only son – Jesus.

We show our love for Jesus through our love for others. That is why we specifically studies two parables: The Lost Sheep and The Prodigal Son. In both instances, Jesus used natural examples to extract a spiritual meaning. His desire is that ALL come to experience His love and compassion. In a group of 100, if one strays off, Jesus showed us how and why we should go after the one. These are powerful teachings and lessons to learn during this journey called ‘life.’

I encourage you to continue your studies in the books of Luke 15:1-7 and 15:11-32.

During the current preaching series titled “The God-Kind of Love,” I am teaching from the book of 1 John 4:7-21 on the importance and impact of L-O-V-E. The unconditional LOVE that God demonstrates towards us is powerful, life-changing, comforting, impactful and inspirational. In part 4 of this teaching, we are learning that:

Our Love for Jesus is exemplified by:

a. ACCEPT THE GIFT ( Jesus is gift that God gave to us because of His love for us)

b. THROUGH OUR LIGHT ( as light enters, darkness must flee)

c. ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AS OUR TEACHER

We concluded this teaching by stating that God LOVES F-A-T people: Faithful, Available, and Teachable.

How will you demonstrate your LOVE for God today?
